Men’s Soccer 3rd Highest GPA in Division I, Earns Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of South Carolina men’s soccer team earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches, which recognizes exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year.

The Gamecocks finished the academic year with a combined GPA of 3.64, the third highest among all NCAA Division I programs. It is the 16th time overall receiving the Team Academic Award.

“I am very proud of the team’s achievement,” head coach Tony Annan said. “For the second consecutive season we are in the top three, it pays tribute to the hard work and attitude of the guys.”

A total of 184 men’s soccer teams across all collegiate levels posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2023-24 academic year.

United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
