Women's Soccer Opens Up 2024 Slate Against Furman

COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina women’s soccer will open up the 2024 campaign at home, taking on Furman at 7:00 p.m. in Stone Stadium. A live radio broadcast of the match will be available on 107.5, beginning with coverage at 6:55 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

The Gamecocks finished the 2023 season 12-3-6, highlighted by going undefeated in conference play (5-0-5) for the fourth time in program history and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Senior forward Cat Barry was named to the All-SEC First Team, and Reagan Schubach was named to the All-Freshman Team. Sophomore defender Gracie Falla earned SEC Defender of the Year, while keeper Heather Hinz picked up the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year nod.

The Gamecocks enter the 2024 season ranked No. 21 in the nation, and were slated to tie for third in the conference in the SEC preseason.

SCOUTING THE PALADINS

Sunday’s meeting with Furman will be the 19th in program history. The Gamecocks hold a 15-2-1 advantage over the Paladins, having won 11 of the last 12 matchups. Carolina last squared off with Furman at home (Sept. 10, 2023), winning the battle 2-0.

The Paladins head into the match with a 3-2 season-opening win over Charleston Southern (Aug. 15)

Fans will have the option to park at any of the City of Columbia metered spots located around Stone Stadium (subject to fees required through the ParkMobile app), the Roost parking lot, or the parking lot at the indoor tennis facility. The Athletics Village Parking Garage will not be available.

Single-game tickets are now on sale. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth 17 and under, and $3 for groups of 15 or more (with pre-purchase).
