Senior All-American had another great week shooting 204 (-12) to earn runner-up medalist honors

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – No. 4 South Carolina finished runner-up at the Mason Rudolph Championship on Sunday. The Gamecocks made a valiant push with a 10-under 278 in the final round today but came up six shots shy of catching eventual champion No. 5 Texas.

Senior All-American Hannah Darling put together another outstanding event as she nearly won her second straight tournament, earning runner-up medalist honors this week. The Midlothian, Scotland, native rose five spots on the leaderboard today thanks to a seven birdie 66 (-6) that featured red numbers on four of her five final holes. She shot 204 (-12) on the week with scores of 67 (-5) and 71 (-1) the first two rounds on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Mississippi State’s Avery Weed won medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 203 (-13).

Darling now has 13 top-fives for her career in 33 total stroke play starts.

Sopohomore Maylis Lamoure and senior All-American Louise Rydqvist also joined Darling in the top-20. Lamoure T-12th at 7-under with scores of 69-69-71. Rydqvist T-16th at 6-under with scores of 68-72-70.

Sophomore Vairana Heck also had a solid week with a T-32nd finish at even par. She had her best round of the tournament today with a 1-under 71 that featured a trio of birdies. Darling (13), Rydqvist (12), Lamoure (11) and Heck (11) all logged double digit birides over the course of the three tournament rounds.

Graduate Sophia Burnett made her debut this week playing as an individual. She had a nice final round today with an even par 72 that featured two birdies and an eagle at the par-5 fourth hole.
