Gamecocks will partner with Old Barnwell to host first NCAA Golf Regional since 1999

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – South Carolina was selected to host an NCAA Women’s Golf Regional in 2027 as future NCAA Championship sites were announced on Wednesday afternoon via NCAA.com. The Gamecocks will partner with Old Barnwell, just outside of Aiken, to host the regional site May 10-12, 2027.

“I am incredibly excited and honored for the University of South Carolina to host an NCAA Women’s Golf Regional in 2027,” said head coach Kalen Anderson. “Old Barnwell is an elite venue that will provide student-athletes with a true championship experience for players, while also showcasing the extraordinary golf that the state of South Carolina has to offer.”

Nestled on 575 acres of sandy soil and rolling hills surrounded by towering longleaf and loblolly pines, Old Barnwell is a private national club that opened in 2023. The prestigious club is ranked No. 71 in the U.S. in the latest Top 100 Golf Courses list.

Since its beginning, Old Barnwell has been instrumental in the advancement of youth golf at the state and national level with the ANNIKA Development Program, the Evans Scholars Foundation and its monthly golf clinics for local youth. Former Gamecock golfers Lois Kaye Go and Katherine Muzi were a part of the inaugural ANNIKA Ambassadors class of 2023.

This marks the second time South Carolina has hosted an NCAA Women’s Golf Regional and will be the first since 1999 at The University Club in Blythewood.
