No. 23 Gamecocks Take Fifth at Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational

Redshirt junior Frankie Harris led the team again this week with another top-five finish

SAUCIER, Miss. – No. 23 South Carolina finished fifth on Monday at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational in the team’s final tournament of the fall schedule. The Gamecocks finished in the top-five in each of the team’s four fall events to start this season.

Redshirt junior Frankie Harris led the team this week with another top-five finish as he T-4^th at 4-under (214) for the tournament. He was the 36-hole leader after a pair of red numbers the first two rounds but slid back three spots today after shooting 73 (+1). The Boca Raton, Fla., native led the team with 13 birdies this week.

Freshman Marek Fleming recorded his first career top-20 in Garnet & Black this week. He T-17^th at 1-over (217) for the tournament. He led the team in the final round today with a 3-under 69 that featured six birdies, including four-straight red numbers on holes 13 thru 16. Fleming made 12 birdies over 54 holes this week.

Junior Zach Adams finished just outside the top-20 at 2-over (218). After shooting over par in round one, Adams bounced back in round two yesterday with a 3-under 69. Like Fleming, he also made 12 birdies on the week.

Senior All-American Nathan Franks finished T-34^th at 5-over. Sophomore transfer Brock Blais and redshirt freshman Ismael Encinas.

The Gamecocks will be off until February now when the team resumes competition at the Puerto Rico Classic.
