HISTORICAL PERFORMANCES
The Gamecocks turned in a historical performance at the 2023 SEC Championship under the direction of first year head coach Tim Hall and distance coach Brock Moreaux. For the first time since 2012, South Carolina secured a Top-10 finish at the 2023 SEC Championship and look to build upon that success tomorrow morning. The Gamecocks finished eighth overall in last year’s event, the best team finish since 2001.

GAMECOCK RUNNERS
South Carolina will send 12 runners to the SEC Championship, nine of which will be making their SEC Championship debuts. Teresa Cherotich looks to continue her charge this year as she has continued to pace the Gamecocks in each meet that she has competed in. Cherotich will be making her SEC Championship debut, alongside teammates: Eliza Brand, Cate Conklin, Mary Frances Iseman, Hattie Jennings, Siobhan Joyce, Emma Torbert, Hannah Vroon and Abigail White.

Anya Arroyo, Lily Weeks and Ella Zeigler are the lone runners for the Garnet & Black that have competed at the SEC Championship.

REGIONAL SUCCESS
The Gamecocks have seen a continued rise within the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional rankings this season. South Carolina entered the rankings on Sept. 16 at the No. 11 and most recently found itself ranked No. 7 on Oct. 21, the highest regional ranking in program history. In addition, the Gamecocks have seen themselves ranked in four consecutive regional rankings, marking a new first for the program.
