COLUMBIA, SC – The No. 8 ranked Gamecock Equestrian team (2-2, 0-2) is set to face No. 7 Georgia (1-2, 1-0) on Friday, Nov. 1 at 11:00 a.m. at One Wood Farm.

LAST TIME OUT

South Carolina had their first SEC road meet against No. 3 Texas A&M (Oct. 25), falling to the Aggies 17-2.

Rookies Amira Kettaneh (Flat) and Alyssa Bauer (Fences) took the lone points on the Jumping Seat side. Kettaneh defeated Maggie Nealon 77.5-71, while Bauer took down Alexa Leong 81-76.5.

The Aggies swept the Gamecocks in Western, 10-0. Four rides were decided by a point or less.

Despite the team loss, four Gamecocks recorded new season highs. Jenna Berghorst posted a 70.75 on Max in Horsemanship, while Opal Fomish (69.5), Mattie McNeill (70.25), and Chloe Stephenson (70.75) all posted new personal bests for the year.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

Friday’s meet with Georgia will be the 43rd in program history. The Bulldogs currently hold a 29-13 advantage over the Gamecocks and have won eight of the last 10 matchups.

The pair of teams last faced of in March, with South Carolina falling 12-7 in a back-and-forth meet. The Gamecocks last defeated Georgia at home in the 2022-23 season (Nov. 12), taking down the Bulldogs in the final ride of the meet to secure a 10-9 victory.
