Carolina leads Virginia Tech 4-0 all-time in neutral court matchups
FORT MYERS, Fla. – South Carolina (3-3) faces Virginia Tech (3-3) tonight in the consolation game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Game time is set for 6 p.m. (ET) with FS1 providing TV coverage again.
The Gamecocks and Hokies met for the first time since 1997 last year on a neutral floor Nov. 10 in non-conference action, part of the Hall of Fame Series at the Spectrum Center in downtown Charlotte. Carolina was victorious, 79-77, as B.J. Mack hit the go-ahead basket with 20 seconds remaining. Myles Stute hit five 3s to lead the way with 21 points for the Gamecocks.
The victory was the 100th career win for head coach Lamont Paris.
Carolina is 3-1 on neutral courts the last two years in the regular season with its only loss to No. 22/22 Xavier on Monday night in the semifinals of the Fort Myers Tip-Off.
