COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina (10-3) opens Southeastern Conference play on the road Saturday at No. 17/16 Mississippi State (12-1). Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. (ET) on SEC Network with Mike Morgan (pxp) and Mark Wise (analyst) on the call for the broadcast.
The Gamecocks have won seven-straight games, seeking the team’s first eight-game win streak since starting the historic 2016-17 Final Four season 8-9.
The team’s current win streak is T-9th longest active win streak in the nation and Carolina is one of six SEC teams with a seven-game or longer victory streak.
The Bulldogs have won six-straight dating back to Dec. 4 with top-25 wins over No. 18/19 Pitt (Dec. 4) at home and on the road at No. 21/25 Memphis (Dec. 21) during the streak. They are led by All-SEC guard Josh Hubbard, who averages 17.5 points per game.
Last season, Carolina swept the season series over Mississippi State winning for the first time at Humphrey Coliseum since 2017 in an overtime thriller in the regular season finale on March 9. The frontcourt duo of B.J. Mack (25) and Collin Murray-Boyles (19) combined for 44 of the team’s 93 points, the most points in the Lamont Paris era at South Carolina.
