Gamecocks Take Down Lynchburg, 8-2

BLYTHEWOOD, SC – The No. 8 ranked Gamecocks started off the spring slate with a win, taking down No. 2 Lynchburg* at home on Friday, 8-2**.

FENCES

The day kicked off with Fences, with South Carolina taking the event 4-1. Grace Rabb got points started with her 20-point win on Schnitzel, 75-55 over Emma Schweizer. Bella Primavera followed suit, earning her point 79-60 against Maddy Rubin. Freshman Amira Kettaneh took her point on Steve, 86-79 defeating Lucy Metzler. Her 86 was the highest score in the event on the day, earning her her fourth MOP of the season in Fences. Natalie Jayne rounded out the event with a point for the Gamecocks, taking down Rebecca Collier 83-78 on Rio.

FLAT

South Carolina came out on top on the Flat, 4-1. Mary Huner Millet took the first point of the day in the event, earning an 80-0 win on Barnaby over Kristin Palmer. Amira Kettaneh then swept the day, scoring an 86 on Nano to take down Devyn Borden’s 74. Kenley Koch kept things going, putting up a career-high 82 on Campino, defeating Emma Schweizer’s 75. Natalie Jayne finished up the day, recording a huge 90-70 win on MJ, taking her point over Abigail Zemp. Her 90 was the highest score of the day, and Jayne picked up her third MOP of the season on the Flat, the most on the team.

The Gamecocks will stay home to take on SEC foe Texas A&M on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11:00 a.m. at One Wood Farm.
