
Three Gamecocks to Compete at Thomas Sharkey Ind. Collegiate

Bo Carpenter, Ismael Encinas and Emil Elkjær Petersen will tee it up for South Carolina at Georgia Southern's annual individual event
STATESBORO, Ga. – Three Gamecocks will compete in the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate this weekend. Sophomore Bo Carpenter, redshirt freshman Ismael Encinas and freshman Emil Elkjær Petersen will tee it up for South Carolina in the all individual event.
Carpenter will be making his second appearance this season and Ismael Encinas will be playing in his fifth event in 2024-25. Encinas had a strong debut in the team’s first event of the year back in September, finishing T-12th competing as an individual at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. He shot 208 (-2) with an opening round 67 (-3).
Elkjær Petersen, a mid-year enrollee, will make his Gamecock debut this weekend at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course. The Odder, Denmark, native posted two wins and seven top-five finishes in WAGR sanctioned events during the 2024 calendar year.
Players will play 36 holes with the final round taking place on Sunday. It will be an 8:15 a.m. (ET) shotgun start for the field each day with live scoring available via LeaderboardKing.
All-American Nathan Franks is the defending champion at the event. He shot a career-low score of 204 (-12) to win by four shots, posting red numbers all three rounds. Franks and teammate Rafe Reynolds finished 1-2 on the leaderboard.
