Feagin on SEC Community Service Team

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball senior Sania Feagin was named to the SEC Women’s Basketball Community Service Team, the conference announced today. It is her second time being selected to the team.

Feagin is a favorite when the team is out in the community, and she is among the first to volunteer for individual opportunities. Her passion is for working with young people, and she has done that through visits to Children’s Hospital and participating in Sandstorm Buddies, which is an organization started by Gamecock student-athletes to pair patients at Children’s Hospital with student-athletes who visit, play games, help with homework, etc. on a regular basis. Her service efforts include a number of projects around the holidays with Christmas caroling at the VA Hospital and taking local children in need on holiday shopping trip for their families.

On the court, Feagin is enjoying a career season, averaging 7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds on the season. Against ranked opponents, her rebounding rises to 5.1 per game. She is seventh in the SEC with 1.46 blocks per game overall and second in the conference with 1.86 per league game. She has eight double-figure scoring games been the team’s top rebounder in five outings.

South Carolina heads into its final week of SEC regular-season action beginning with a trip to Ole Miss on Thu., Feb. 27, for a 9 p.m. ET tipoff. The Gamecocks wrap up their conference slate at Colonial Life Arena on Sun., Mar. 2, at 2 p.m. and will honor their seniors in a pregame ceremony expected to begin at 1:40 p.m.
