
Gamecocks Head West for Two Meets
COLUMBIA, SC – The No. 8 ranked Gamecocks (3-5, 1-5) are set to head west for two meets this weekend, first taking on UC Davis (4-8, 4-8) on Friday, Feb. 28 followed by No. 6 Fresno State (7-3, 2-2) on Saturday, March 1.
LAST TIME OUT
South Carolina put up a fight against SEC foe Georgia, securing two MOPs on the day but falling 11-8 overall. Sarah Rabb earned her second MOP of the season on the Flat after defeating Jessica Guginsky 91-85 on Swank. The 91 tied her career-high. Carly Jenkins then took the MOP in Horsemanship for her 73.5-73 win on Garth, marking the first MOP of her career.
Amira Kettaneh (Flat & Fences), Mary Hunter Millet (Flat), Mattie McNeill (Reining), Haley Turner (Reining) and Chloe Stephenson (Reining) all picked up points for the Gamecocks.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Friday’s matchup with UC Davis will be just the third in program history, with the series split at 1-1. The pair first met in the fall of 2021 (Sept. 30), where the Aggies took the win at home 11-6 over the Gamecoks. In 2023, South Carolina bounced back and secured an 11-8 win at home (Sept. 22).
UC Davis heads into the meet coming off a 13-4 loss to fellow SEC member Texas A&M.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Saturday’s meet with No. 6 Fresno State will be the 16th overall, with the Gamecocks leading the series 10-5. South Carolina last faced the Bulldogs on the road in South Dakota (10/6/23), taking home a 12-4 win.
Fresno State most recently defeated No. 10 Baylor at home 11-9.
