AWENDAW, S.C. – No. 18 South Carolina is back in action again as the team returns to the Lowcountry this weekend to co-host the 19th edition of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate alongside College of Charleston. The Gamecocks have won the event five times, their last Hootie team title coming in 2022.
First round action gets underway on Sunday morning at Bulls Bay Golf with the final round of the 54-hole event taking place on Tuesday.
The lineup remains the same for South Carolina with senior All-American Nathan Franks manning the top spot. He’s had two-straight, top-five finishes and is fresh off a bogey free 64 (-8) in the final round of the Linger Longer Invitational on Tuesday.
Redshirt junior Frankie Harris remains in the lineup after making his first start of the spring at the Linger Longer Invitational earlier in the week. Harris was co-champion at Bulls Bay last year with a 54-hole total of 210 (-6) that included a 4-under 68 in the final round.
Junior Zach Adams, freshman Marek Fleming and sophomore Brock Blais round out the Gamecocks’ counting five. Fleming has had nice start to the spring with a pair of top-20 finishes at the Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 10-12) and the Linger Longer Invitational (March 16-18).
Three players will compete for South Carolina this week as individuals: sophomore Bo Carpenter, freshman Emil Elkjær Petersen and redshirt freshman Ismael Encinas.
