Trio of Gamecocks to Compete as Individuals at Ironwood Invitational

Burnett, Heck and Lamoure to all tee it up for Carolina on Monday in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Three players for the No. 5 South Carolina women’s golf team will compete as individuals on Monday and Tuesday at the ECU Ironwood Invitational. Graduate Sophia Burnett, sophomore Vairana Heck and sophomore Maylis Lamoure will be teeing it up tomorrow morning at Ironwood Golf & Country Club.

It’ll be a shotgun start for the field tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. (ET) as teams will play 36 holes on Monday. Clippd will provide live scoring for the tournament.

Lamoure has four top-20 finishes in seven stroke play starts this season for the Gamecocks. Burnett and Heck each have a pair of top-20 finishes on the year in their seven appearances.

Burnett had a career week competing as an individual in the fall at the Landfall Tradition (Oct. 25-27). She shot a career-best score of 212 (-4) in route to a solo third-place finish that featured a 67 (-5) in round two that gave her the 36-hole lead of the tournament.
