EVANS, Ga. – Senior All-American Louise Rydqvist and freshman Eila Galitsky each made the cut for the second consecutive year at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur on Thursday. The Gamecock duo sits T-17th at 2-under after 36 holes of play at Champions Retreat the last two days.

Rydqvist shot scores of 72 (E) and 70 (-2) the opening two rounds. She battled back from a double bogrey on the opening hole in round one Wednesday to shoot even par thanks to three-straight birdies on holes seven thru nine at closing birdie at the par-5 18th hole. The Värnamo, Sweden native made a pair of eagles today at holes three and 18. She also had a clutch birdie at the par-3 eighth hole to get comfortable inside the 1-under cutline. Rydqvist has made the cut in both of her ANWA appearances the last two seasons. She finished T-24th at last year’s tournament.

Galitsky, a mid-year enrollee who won in her second collegiate start back at the Moon Golf Invitational on Feb. 18, shot 70 (-2) in the opening round Wednesday and 72 (E) today. She made three birdies and just one bogey the opening 18 holes. She chipped in to save par on hole 18. Galitsky had a trio of birdies on her scorecard today with a crucial one at the par-5 14th that also put her inside the 1-under cutline. The Chiang Mai, Thailand native finished T-8th at last year’s tournament. This marks her third career appearance in the event with two made cuts now.

Senior All-American Hannah Darling, who was making her fourth ANWA appearance this week, missed the cut by just four shots at 3-over. She shot 75 (+3) in the opening round with a pair of birdies and carded an even par 72 today with four birdies at holes one, six, eight and 14. Defending Champion Lottie Woad of Florida State and Kiara Romero of Oregon are tied for the 36-hole lead at 9-under. A trio of other players sits one shot back at 8-under.

All three Gamecocks as well as the other 68 players in the field will play in a practice round at Augusta National Golf Club on Friday.

She shot 70 (-2) in the final round at Augusta National Golf Club and was one of only five players who made the cut to post a red number the last 18 holes of the tournament.
