Men’s Soccer Earns Third Straight Top-5 GPA, Receives Team Academic Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of South Carolina men’s soccer team earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches, which recognizes exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year.
The Gamecocks finished the academic year with a combined GPA of 3.63, the fifth highest among all NCAA Division I programs. It is the 17th time overall receiving the Team Academic Award.
“I am very proud of the team’s achievement,” head coach Tony Annan said. “For the third consecutive season we are in the top five of Division I. It pays tribute to the hard work, culture and attitude of the guys.”
A total of 283 men’s soccer teams across all collegiate levels (D1, D2, D3, NAIA, NJCAA) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
