Women’s Soccer Grabs Team Academic Honor
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer was on the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award list for the 22nd time in the last 24 seasons, the organization announced today.
The Gamecocks’ combined GPA of 3.66 for the 2024-25 academic year ranked them among the 414 women’s teams across all divisions to make the list. South Carolina is also one of 151 schools that had both its men’s and women’s teams on the list this year.
South Carolina women’s soccer is entering its 30th season and the 25th under head coach Shelley Smith. Kickoff is officially on Thu., Aug. 14, at 7 p.m. at College of Charleston, but the Gamecocks will host an exhibition game on Fri., Aug. 8, at 6 p.m. against Duke. Admission to the exhibition at Stone Stadium is free.
