Andrade da Silva, Gazeu Set for M15 Winston Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Two Gamecocks will represent their home countries this week at the M15 Winston-Salem, the lone professional tournament on South Carolina’s 2025 fall schedule, hosted at Wake Forest University from Monday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 5.

Both are slated to compete in singles play. Lucas Andrade da Silva, representing Brazil and currently ranked No. 37 nationally, earned a spot in the main draw. Paul Barbier Gazeu, competing for France, will enter the qualifying draw against Portugal’s Vasco Leote Prata.

Andrade da Silva and Gazeu also have the chance to qualify for doubles in the tournament. The draw will be posted at a later date.

Andrade da Silva enters the week following a strong showing at the ITA All-American Championships, where he battled through a pair of three-set qualifying matches to earn a spot in the main singles draw. Along the way, he secured his first ranked win of the season over No. 110. In the main draw, he advanced to the round of 64 before falling 6-3, 6-3. In doubles, he teamed up with Sean Daryabeigi to notch his second ranked win of the tournament, taking down the nation’s No. 37 pair 7-5, 6-4 in the opening round, before narrowly dropping a 7-6(4), 7-5 decision to an Alabama duo.

Gazeu opened his season at the Carolina Classic last week, collecting three total wins between singles and doubles. Competing in flight two singles, he defeated his UNC opponent 6-4, 6-4 on the opening day. He then paired with Max Stenzer in doubles, cruising to an 8-1 victory over North Carolina’s Nicholas Mangiapane and Oliver Narbut in Flight A consolation play. The sophomore closed out his weekend with another straight-set win, defeating his flight two opponent 6-4, 6-3 in the consolation draw.
