Gamecocks Finish Fifth at Daniel Island

Senior Zach Adams, a Charleston native, led the way this week for Carolina with a T-10th finish
CHARLESTON, S.C. – South Carolina finished fifth at The Bryson Invitational on Wednesday at Daniel Island Club. The Gamecocks shot under par each round with a 54-hole total of 851 (-13). Carolina’s low round of the tournament came Tuesday as the team shot 278 (-10) in round two to make a push up the leaderboard.
Senior Zach Adams and redshirt senior Frankie Harris each finished in the top-20. Adams led the way for Carolina this week as he secured a T-10th finish, his first top-10 of the season and the fifth of his career. The Charleston, S.C. native shot 210 (-6) with scores of 70-68-72 and 13 birdies on his scorecards. Harris finished T-12th at 5-under with a 54-hole total of 211. He shot 72-68-71 with a team-high 15 birdies, which T-3rd most red numbers in the 84-man field. The Boca Raton, Fla. native now has 14 top-20 finishes in 24 career starts at South Carolina over the past three seasons.
Freshman Talan Harrison T-29th at 1-under in his lineup debut this week shooting 71-72-72. He made nine birdies and an eagle. Sophomore Marek Fleming T-41st at 1-over for the tournament, shooting 74-70-73. Freshman August Petersson also made his lineup debut this week alongside Harrison. He had a strong finish in round three today with a 1-under score of 71.
Junior Brock Blais and redshirt sophomore Ismael Encinas competed as individuals this week. Blais played solid in securing a top-20 finish. He shot 212 (-4) to finish T-17th with scores of 72-68-72. It was his first top-20 finish of the season and the fourth of his career in 15 starts as a Gamecock the last two seasons. Encinas’ tournament was highlighted by a round two 69 (-3) in which he made five birdies.
The first Clippd Rankings of the 2025-26 season were released today. The Gamecocks picked up a pair of top-20 head-to-head wins this week at Daniel Island over No. 10 BYU and No. 16 Charlotte.
Carolina will now head straight to Saucier, Miss. to conclude the fall portion of the team’s schedule. First round action at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational gets underway on Saturday. The third-year tournament will feature a strong, SEC heavy field.
