Gamecocks Fall at No. 9 Marshall
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The South Carolina men’s soccer team (7-6-2, 1-3-2) fell to Sun Belt foe No. 9 Marshall (8-1-4, 5-1) 4-0 Wednesday night (Oct. 22).
The Gamecock offense was limited to one shot on goal in the first half coming in the 30th minute by Tyler Trimnal. The Thundering Herd tallied goals in the 31st and 37th minutes to take a 2-0 halftime lead.
Marshall came out and added another goal two minutes into the second half off a free kick. It would add the final goal in the 77th minute.
On the night, Marshall held a 14-to-2 advantage in shots, 6-to-1 in shots on goal, and 8-to-4 in corner kicks.
The Gamecocks return to Stone Stadium Sunday night and will host Coastal Carolina at 7 p.m.
