No. 16 Gamecocks Back at Landfall for Fall Finale

Andy Mead

South Carolina making its first appearance since 2022 (13th all-time) at prestigious fall event

WILMINGTON, N.C. – No. 16 South Carolina concludes the fall portion of its schedule this weekend at the Landfall Tradition. First round action gets underway tomorrow with the final round of the annual event taking place on Sunday.

Country Club of Landfall has hosted the tournament since 2002 at its Pete Dye course. This marks South Carolina’s 13th all-time appearance at the prestigious fall tournament and first for the team since 2022. The Gamecocks have won the event three times (2021, 2019, 2016), all under the direction of five-time SEC Coach of the Year Kalen Anderson.

It’s the same five-player lineup this week for Carolina. Sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky and junior All-SECer Maylis Lamoure, fresh off top-10 finishes at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational last weekend, have the top two spots in the lineup. They will be joined by freshman Molly McLean, junior Vairana Heck and junior transfer Alicia Olsson. McLean made her college debut last weekend in Chapel Hill and impressed, finishing T-21st en route to earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors.

Clippd will have live scoring for the event here. Carolina will be paired with No. 20 UCF and No. 14 Duke for the first round. Olsson will be the first player off at 10:09 a.m. (ET) from hole one for Carolina.

It’s another strong, deep field of competition for the Gamecocks this week with six total teams ranked inside the top-25 of the latest Clippd Poll headlined by No. 5 Wake Forest. Six more teams are ranked inside the top-50.
