Gamecocks Sign for Three Trips to Ally Tipoff
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball will participate in the Ally Tipoff at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC, from 2026 through 2028, the Charlotte Sports Foundation announced today. The Gamecocks will face North Carolina in 2026, UConn in 2027 and NC State in 2028.
“We couldn’t be more excited to sign on to playing in the Ally Tipoff for the next three seasons,” South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley said. “The Charlotte Sports Foundation and Ally know how to create great matchups and then roll out the red carpet for teams, and Charlotte is a tremendous basketball city that will welcome fans from every program and create an amazing atmosphere to play.”
This announcement marks the third about the Gamecocks’ 2026-27 schedule in recent weeks with each being an elite non-conference game. South Carolina previously released that it will open next season in Paris against Maryland (Nov. 2) and travel to the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase in Uncasville, CT, to face UConn on Nov. 24.
The Gamecocks played in the Ally Tipoff last season, defeating then-No. 9 NC State 71-57 on Nov. 10, 2024. The event has established itself as a standout event in women’s college basketball, setting attendance records for regular-season games in the state of North Carolina in each of its first two years. With support form Ally, the event has quickly become a fan favorite in the Queen City and important addition to Charlottes’ portfolio of premier sports and entertainment offerings.
No. 2/2 South Carolina continues its three-game homestand on Fri., Nov. 7, when Bowling Green comes to Colonial Life Arena for a 7 p.m. tipoff that will stream on SEC Network+. The Gamecocks wrap up the season-opening stretch with an in-state showdown with rival Clemson on Tue., Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
