Stenzer and Daryabeigi Upset Seeded Purdue Pair to Reach Round of 16
ORLANDA, Fla. – South Carolina’s Max Stenzer and Sean Daryabeigi battled their way into the Round of 16 at the NCAA Individual Doubles Championship, knocking off the 5–8 seeded duo from Purdue in a thrilling three-set upset on Wednesday evening.
After dropping a tight first-set tiebreak, 6(8)-7, the Gamecock pair surged back with a composed 6-3 second set before dominating the match tiebreak, 10-1, to secure their spot in the next round.
Stenzer and Daryabeigi play for a shot at becoming All-Americans if they win tomorrow’s match.
