Gamecock Athletics announces 2026 Cocky Trot 5K

Gamecock Athletics is excited to announce that the Cocky Trot 5K & Fun Run/Walk is set for Saturday, April 25.

Now in it’s fifth year, the Cocky Trot 5K & Fun Run/Walk will begin at 9 a.m. Due to ongoing construction for the Williams-Brice Reimagined project, this year’s course will be different than previous years.

Participants will still be able to race through Gamecock Park and the indoor and outdoor football practice fields. However, this year’s course will not go through Williams-Brice Stadium. The start and finish line will be located in the South Carolina State Fairgrounds.

All participants of the Cocky Trot 5K & Fun Run/Walk will receive:

• A Cocky Trot t-shirt
• Finisher medal
• Access to discounted tickets to select football and baseball games
• Post-race refreshments

Additionally, the top-three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top-three finishers in various age groups, will receive special prizes, including season or single-game tickets to Gamecock sporting events.

Early bird registration is open now through March 22.
