No. 18 Gamecocks Finish Strong at Therese Hession Regional Challenge

Carolina shot 279 (-5) in Tuesday's final round to push four spots up the leaderboard ; Heck shoots 68 (-3) in round three to earn first top-10 finish of season

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – No. 18 South Carolina charged up the leaderboard in the final round of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge on Tuesday to finish T-6th with No. 2 Southern Cal in a strong 16-team field. The Gamecocks shot 279 (-5) in round three with a trio of players shooting under par.

Nine ranked teams from the Clippd Top-25 competed this week with five ranked inside the top-10. Carolina picked up head-to-head victories over No. 9 Pepperdine and No. 13 Arizona State.

Junior Vairana Heck and sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky each shot 68 (-3) to lead the way. Freshman Laura Nepper shot 70 (-5). Heck and Galitsky each made six birdies. Nepper had five red numbers on her scorecard. The trio all jumped 15 spots or more on the leaderboard with their standout play today in the final 18-holes of the prestigious event.

Heck shot 1-over for the tournament as she finished T-9th for her first top-10 of the season (third career). Galitsky finished T-23rd at 5-over while Nepper and fellow freshman Molly McLean finished T-32nd at 7-over.

Junior Maylis Lamoure finished T-59th at 12-over and senior Mia Sandtorv Lussand, who competed as an individual this week in her season debut, finished T-77th at 18-over.
