Strong field awaits in Las Vegas with nine of 15 teams ranked in the latest Clippd Top-25

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – South Carolina is set to compete in one of the primer spring events in men’s college golf starting Sunday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate (March 1-3). The 54-hole event, hosted by UNLV, will be played at Southern Highlands Golf Club.

The par-72, Robert Trent Jones layout is one of the top courses in the region and hosted the PGA TOUR’s Shriners Children’s Open from 2000-04.

It’s a loaded field this week with all 15 teams competing currently ranked in the top-50 in the latest Clippd Team Poll. No. 1 Virginia, No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 Florida and No. 4 Texas headline the group of nine teams ranked in the top-25.

Clippd will have live scoring for the event here.

It’s the same five-man lineup for the Gamecocks that kicked off the spring at the Puerto Rico Classic led by All-American Frankie Harris, who picked up his fifth career win at the event. The Boca Raton, Fla. native shot a new career-low score of 200 (-16) to win by a shot over Virginia’s Ben James and Josh Duangmanee. James was ranked the No. 1 player in the country in Clippd at the time.

Harris is joined in the lineup this week by senior Zach Adams, sophomore Marek Fleming, freshman Talan Harrison and junior Brock Blais. Harrison had a nice week in Puerto Rico as well shooting 207 (-9) to finish T-14th en route to his second top-20 finish of the season.
