Heck Finishes T-15th to Lead No. 18 Gamecocks at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

Junior now has four top-20 finishes in seven starts this season for South Carolina

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – No. 18 South Carolina concluded the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Wednesday at Long Cove Club. The Gamecocks slipped five spots in the final round to finish 17th with a 54-hole total of 892 (+40).

Junior Vairana Heck paced the team this week with a T-15th finish at 2-over for the tournament. The Boulogne-Billancourt, France native fired scores of 74 (+3) and 73 (+2) the first two rounds, closing strong with a 3-under 68 today that featured four birdies and just one bogey on her scorecard. Heck now has four top-20 finishes (12 career) in seven starts this season.

Sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky finished T-25th with a 54-hole total of 218 (+5). She shot 71-70-76 with a team-best 10 birdies, which T-11th in the 90-player field.

No. 9 Texas went wire-to-wire for its first win of the season and first Darius Rucker Intercollegiate title in the 14-year history of the prestigious event. The Longhorns’ Farah O’Keefe also went wire-to-wire for individual medalist honors, shooting 64 (-7) in the opening round on Monday. She was co-medalist of the event in 2024 and becomes just the second player in tournament history, joining Cheynne Knight of Alabama (2016, 2017), to win the event twice.

No. 12 Duke’s Rianne Malixi shot 63 (-8) today to set a new individual low round tournament record. The Blue Devils’ team score of 276 (-8) in round three was also a new team low round tournament record previously held by Alabama (2016) and Arizona State (2024) at 278 (-6).
