Jake Beasley
Jake Beasley returned to his alma mater in January 2024 as an assistant coach. Prior to his coaching stint, Beasley played for the Gamecocks for five seasons, amassing a total of 167 wins.
As a freshman he went undefeated in the Nos 3, 4, and 5 spots in the singles lineup and was 1-1 in dual matches before the Covid-19 pandemic shortened his sophomore season.
During his third year in the Garnet & Black, Beasley and partner Toby Samuel tied the school record for most wins by a doubles team in a season with 26. The following year the duo ranked as high as No. 53 in the nation in the ITA Doubles Rankings.
As a graduate, Beasley was named MVP of the SEC-Big 12 Challenge after going a perfect 3-0 in both doubles and singles and later climbed up to a career-high of No. 22 in the doubles rankings alongside James Story.
In the record book, Beasley owns the program record for most career doubles wins with 94. He is also the program’s fourth winningest player in dual doubles matches with a total of 57. During his final season as a player Beasley led the team in doubles wins with 28.
Beasley graduated from the university in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in the same discipline with a projected graduation of spring 2024.
