Luke Doty
Luke Doty moved into the coaching field after a six-year stint as a member of the Gamecock football team as a player. Doty was hired in February 2026 as a defensive assistant and will work with the defensive backs.
As a player, Doty worked at quarterback and wide receiver and helped on special teams during his Gamecock career. He played in 47 games with nine starts – six at quarterback and three at wide receiver. He completed 61.1 percent of his passes (160-for-262) for 1,696 yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed 91 times for 193 yards and two scores and added 16 receptions for 140 yards and a touchdown. Doty posted a 2-4 record as a starting quarterback.
Doty took advantage of his time at South Carolina, earning two degrees. He graduated in December 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned his Master’s degree in coaching education with an emphasis on mental performance in May 2025.
