Rex Hogan

Rex Hogan was named the Gamecocks’ Director of Scouting in January of 2026.

Hogan brings a wealth of scouting experience to Columbia, including stints at both the collegiate and professional levels.

He joined the Gamecocks’ staff after spending the two previous seasons at Auburn as the Director of College Scouting where he worked with the player personnel staff to evaluate college football players.

After graduating from Austin Peay in 1995 where he played football, Hogan began his career at Notre Dame, working in Recruiting and Operations from 1998-2003. He had a brief stint at Utah as the Director of Football Operations before becoming an Area Scout and National Scout for the Chicago Bears from 2003-2015.

In 2015, Hogan was named the Senior Director of College Scouting for the New York Jets, the first of two stints with the Jets. In 2017, he was named the Vice President of Player Personnel for the Indianapolis Colts. He returned to the Jets organization in 2019 as the Assistant General Manager, a position he held for five years.

Hogan and his wife, Christy, have three children. Christy was also a collegiate athlete, playing lacrosse at Richmond from 1996-1999.
