- Prepped at Beaufort High School, earning all-state honors twice and all-region honors three times
- Got to No. 1 in the South Carolina Junior Golf Association rankings in January of 2022
- Was a part of the winning U.S. team at the 2022 Watson Cup in Scotland
- Won the Carolina Golf Association’s 2021 HV-3 Invitational
- Was runner-up medalist at the 2021 South Carolina AAAA State Championship
- Also was runner-up medalist at the 2021 Blade Junior
- Took third at the SCJGA Sea Pines Junior Heritage in 2020

- Son of Mike and Sara Bruns ; has two older sisters: Mary and Lucy ; sister Lucy played tennis at Holy Cross College (Notre Dame, Ind.)
