Mark Rodger

Mark Rodger enters his 21st year as the athletic trainer for the Gamecock men’s basketball team in 2024-25 after spending three years at East Carolina prior to his time Columbia.

In addition to providing medical coverage for the men’s basketball program, Rodger oversees a graduate assistant athletic trainer who works with the men’s tennis and men’s golf programs.  Furthermore, he serves as a preceptor in the athletic training education curriculum program at South Carolina.

A certified member of the NATA (National Athletic Trainers’ Association), Rodger holds several additional certifications such as Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement Specialist, Graston Technique, Kinesio Taping, Blood Flow Restriction and Dry Needling.

Rodger received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a specialized concentration in athletic training from the University at Buffalo in 2001. He attended graduate school at South Carolina, where he earned a master’s of arts and teaching degree in physical education in 2003.

Rodger is a native of Berlin, Germany, and is married to the former Jordan Allonier.  The couple have twin boys, Grayson and Cameron.
