Sam Serbay
Sam Serbay, who has served as a player personnel and recruiting assistant for South Carolina Football since 2021, was named Director of Recruiting – Offense in July of 2024, prior to the start of fall camp.
Serbay got his start as an assistant coach at his alma mater, James Monroe High School, from 2009-14 while attending Virginia Commonwealth University. After earning his bachelor’s degree in 2014, Serbay worked as a defensive and special teams quality control coach at Towson University in 2015. After one year as an external scout for the Cleveland Browns, Serbay spent 2017 as an offensive quality control coach and assistant Director of Football Operations at the University of Richmond. In 2018, he served as the assistant DFO at William & Mary.
Serbay worked in the private sector from 2019-21 before joining Coach Beamer’s staff in July of 2021.
A native of Fredericksburg, Va., Serbay is the son of VHSL Hall of Fame coach Richard Serbay, who captured four state titles in a 30-year career as the head coach at James Monroe High.
