On the team’s pitching performance
“It wasn’t very good, but we battled in situations. (Sam) Dyson was not sharp but that being said when he left we were in striking distance. We left some run scoring opportunities on the table today which have come back to haunt us a little bit. You have to give Stratton credit he made a couple pitches to get out of some jams. We played uphill from the first inning on and never quite got up to the top. We almost rallied but we didn’t get there.”
On the offense
“Despite everything that went on in that game, and it was a long and exhausting game, we probably lost because we weren’t able to drive in a lot of runs in run scoring situations. Despite pitching, despite not getting a couple of outs on plays we should have, we left too many run scoring opportunities on the table.”
