Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina junior infielder Nick Ebert has been selected in the 32nd round of the 2009 MLB Draft. Ebert was the No. 975 overall pick by the New York Yankees and is the second Gamecock to be drafted by the Yankees this year. DeAngelo Mack was the 13th round selection by the Yankees on Wednesday afternoon. Ebert is also the fourth current Gamecock player to be drafted this year along with Mack, Justin Dalles and Sam Dyson.

Ebert earned second team All-SEC honors this year at first base and hit a team-leading 23 HR with 72 RBI. Ebert finished with a .321 batting average (67-for-209) and also compiled 13 doubles. He had a .468 on-base percentage and a .713 slugging percentage.
