The Young Alumni Council of the Carolina Alumni Association will hold its annual USC Gamecock sports Preview Party from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 in the Moore Building at the State Fairgrounds.
This season’s kick-off event will feature football coaches Lou and Skip Holtz, track and field coach Curtis Frye, men’s soccer coach Mark Berson, women’s soccer coach Shelley Smith and volleyball coach Kim Christopher. The evening will include dinner and door prizes.
Tickets cost $30 per person and are available by calling the Carolina Alumni Association at 803-777-4111.
USC’s Young Alumni Council is a special group within the Carolina Alumni Association for graduates of 10 years or less. Its annual activities include social events, which include the fall preview party and an oyster roast; service projects, which include a golf tournament in the spring to raise money for USC scholarships and Habitat for Humanity; and seminars on topics relevant to recent graduates such as home buying.
Membership in the Carolina Alumni Association costs $40 for a single membership and $50 for a joint membership (two people living at same address). Life memberships also are available. Call 803-777- 4111 to join.
