FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – South Carolina redshirt junior Kettiany “KeKe” Clarke notched her first provisional time in the 60m hurdles and freshman Beatrice Biwott won the women’s 3000-meter run to lead the No. 13 Gamecock women in the final day of competition at the Tyson Invitational Saturday.
Clarke, who already has a provisional mark in the pentathlon, took third in the consolation final of the 60m hurdles at 8.41. Biwott ran a seasonal best 10:02.74 in the 3K to claim her first collegiate victory. Other female Gamecocks to notch seasonal best times were 200m runners Gabby Glenn and Breehana Jacobs who take 16th and 34th, respectively. Glenn ran a 24.25 in her race while Jacobs ran a 24.89.
Kayla Blake and Cory Bowen tied for fifth in the women’s high jump at 5-01.25 (1.57m). The women’s 4x400m relay team took fifth at 3:40.98.
For the 14th-ranked men, Booker Nunley and Johnny Dutch finished 6-7 in the 60m hurdles final. Nunley ran a season best 7.93 while Dutch followed at 8.03. Antonio Sales placed sixth in the 200m dash at 21.28. The men’s 4x400m relay team ran well enough to place second (3:09.96) but the time was nullified by a lane violation.
South Carolina returns to action this weekend when the team hosts the Gamecock Invitational Saturday, Feb. 20.
