COLUMBIA, S.C. — Sophomore Ana Marija Zubori from the women’s tennis team has been selected this week’s AgSouth Athlete of the Week. Zubori won her respective singles and doubles flights at the Furman Fall Classic this past weekend.

Zubori first teamed with Gira Schofield to win the flight one doubles title Saturday with an 8-6 victory against the nation’s No. 2-ranked doubles team of Ani Mijacika and Federica van Adrichem from Clemson. In the semifinals, the Gamecock duo upended No. 10 Caitlin Whoriskey and Zofia Zubor of Tennessee 8-3.

In the second flight of singles, Zubori first defeated Penn State’s Jenny Shular 6-3, 6-3 before topping Whoriskey 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in the semis. Zubori cruised past No. 27 Catherine Newman of Vanderbilt in the final 6-4, 6-1.

Zubori is ranked No. 77 in the nation in singles and No. 23 in doubles with Schofield.
