COLUMBIA, S.C. — Four members of the South Carolina women’s tennis team will compete in the Wildcat Invitational in Evanston, Ill., starting Friday. Miljana Jocic, Natasa Vuckovic, Suzanna Mansour and Megan McGavock will represent the Gamecocks in the tournament that concludes Sunday.

Jocic raced out to a 4-0 start this fall, but dropped her final two matches at the Furman Fall Classic last weekend to move to 4-2. She is 3-3 in doubles playing with McGavock. McGavock owns the team’s best singles record thus far at 5-1, while Mansour and Vuckovic are both 3-3 and 2-4 as a doubles team.

South Carolina will be without Gira Schofield and Ana Marija Zubori, as the two competed in Pacific Palisades, Calif., in the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both players lost in their opening-round singles matches and doubles contest as well. Schofield lost in the first round of the consolation draw, and Zubori withdrew due to an injury.

After the Wildcat Invitational, the Gamecocks will take the following two weekends off from competition and then return to host the Southern Intercollegiate Championships from Oct. 26-28.
