South Carolina senior Ronnetta Alexander has been named the SEC Women’s Runner of the Week. It is a first time honor for Alexander.

Alexander ran a time of 13.52 to win the 100m hurdles’ race and qualify for the NCAA regional at the Hurricane Invitational last weekend. Alexander’s mark of 13.52 is the third fastest time in the nation (through March 19).

“That was a good time for her, but she should run much faster this weekend in Arizona,” said USC Head Coach Curtis Frye. “We are expecting big things from ‘Netta this spring.”

She also ran leg of USC’s 4x100m relay that also qualified for the regional with a time of 45.24.

USC travels to Arizona State this weekend for a scored meet that will pit teams from the SEC and the Pac-10 against each other in a conference vs. conference meet. The meet will be held Friday & Saturday, March 23 & 24, 2007 at Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.
