The South Carolina women’s track and field team maintained its top five rankings this week with a No. 4 ranking from trackwire.com and a No. 5 ranking with the USTFCCCA (Track and Field Coaches Assoc.).
This week the women have eight ranked in the nation’s top 20 and its NCAA Indoor champion 4x400m relay is ranked No. 1. The men have three ranked in the nation’s top 20 individually. The men’s 4x400m relay – which finished third at the NCAA Indoor Championships – is ranked No. 8 currently.
The women are looking for their 12th straight top 10 finish as the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Sacramento in June. The men’s and women’s teams compete at the NC A &T Invitational this weekend before traveling to Philadelphia, Penn. for the 113th annual Penn Relays.
The women are led by Natasha Hastings – who is ranked No. 2 in the 400m also runs a leg of the No. 1 4x400m relay.
