COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina women’s tennis team continues its 2007 campaign Tuesday at Greenville, S.C., when it faces Furman at 5 p.m.

The Gamecocks stand 1-0 after upending East Tennessee State on Wednesday by a 6-1 count in the home- and season-opener for USC. The Paladins were 7-0 winners in their first match of the year two days ago against Georgia State.

South Carolina has never lost to Furman, owning a 19-0 record. The two squads have met every year since 1999, and the Gamecocks were 7-0 winners in Columbia, S.C., last season. In Carolina’s last two trips to Greenville in 2003 and 2005, it came away with 4-3 victories.

USC’s next home match is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 5 p.m. against Winthrop at the Indoor Field House.
