Columbia, S.C. – The Carolina Alumni Association of the University of South Carolina will host its annual preview event for Carolina baseball and softball Thursday, Feb. 1. The preview will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. at the USC Field House, located across from the Roost. It is free and open to all members of the Carolina Alumni Association, Gamecock Club, USC’s Dugout Club and their guests. Membership cards must be presented at the door for admission.

Fans will meet Cocky and the players and hear from head coaches Ray Tanner and Joyce Compton about their upcoming seasons. Free ballpark food will be available, and fans will have the chane to win a baseball autographed by Coach Tanner as well as some other prizes. Festivities also will include the opportunity to get autographs, run the bases, take batting practice and test pitching speed with a radar gun.

USC’s baseball team is ranked in the top 10 in two of the preseason national polls. Both the baseball and softball teams are looking to return to familiar territory at the 2007 College World Series.
