CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Miranda Gutierrez and Megan McGavock from the South Carolina women’s tennis team were defeated in the main draw of singles at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional Championships on Friday in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Gutierrez fell in straight sets to Amanda Granson from Duke 6-2, 6-0, while McGavock suffered a 6-4, 6-4 setback to North Carolina’s Caitlin Collins.

The Gamecocks return to action hosting the Southern Intercollegiate Championships over Oct. 27-29.
