Head Coach Sue Enquist: “I think UCLA did a good job of competing tonight. Sometimes you don’t play your best game. We were not flawless defensively and we had missed opportunities offensively. I felt like today we gutted it out and the one thing that this team has shown all year is they don’t give up. A large part of that is because we are strong in the circle, and our pitcher was great tonight and clutched up when she needed to. It’s very reminiscent of what has happened all year.”

Pitcher Keira Goerl: “Defense is part of the game, and sometimes the defense is not what you would want behind you. People make mistakes. It happens. You just have to work through it. I think I came on strong at the end, and I’m glad we were able to pull it out.”
