COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina softball will wrap up their non-conference schedule when they travel to Coastal Carolina for a Thursday doubleheader. First pitch is at 5 p.m. at Coastal Carolina Softball Field in Conway. The Gamecocks are 24-20 overall, while the Lady Chanticleers are 26-19.
This marks the 41st and 42nd meetings between the two teams and South Carolina leads the series 37-3. Both teams are coming off of doubleheader sweeps as USC defeated Arkansas over the weekend and Coastal recorded victories over Elon on Tuesday.
In 2005, USC went 1-1 with Coastal when the two teams met at the Gamecock Invitational. The last time the two teams played in Conway was in 2003 and Coastal won game one 7-6, while USC took game two 8-0.
South Carolina is 20-7 in non-conference games this season and the Lady Chants are 23-18.
