Columbia, SC – After two rounds of play at the 2002 Southeastern Conference men’s golf championship, South Carolina stands in eighth place after firing 591. Auburn University turned a one-stroke deficit into an 11-stroke lead after to take the lead over the 12-team field.

The Gators, standing in second place, shot 294 on Saturday after their 284 on Friday and have a two-day total of 578. LSU moved up from fourth with a 286 on Saturday for their two-day total of 578.

Switzerland native, Martin Rominger, continues to lead the Gamecocks with a two-round score of 143. His three-over-par score places him in a tie for ninth.

Brent Delahoussaye blasted a second round score of 69, seven stokes beter than Friday’s score, vaulting him to 14th. The standout sophomore is only two strokes back from teammate Rominger.

Following in Delahoussaye’s footsteps, Alex Hamilton improved six strokes on Saturday with a two-day score of 150 (78-72). Johan Kok is tied for 53rd, while Nash Elliot is in 58th.

The tournament concludes on Sunday, April 21 with the third round of play.
