COLUMBIA, S.C. – Freshman outfielder Jessica Josker was named Second Team to the 2005 NFCA Southeastern All-Region Team and is the 36th South Carolina player to land a spot on an all-region team. Josker was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team earlier in the month.
The San Jacinto, Calif. Native finished as the team’s leading hitter with a .363 batting average and 70 hits. She also drove in 26 runs and scored 30. She was named SEC Player of the Week during the season.
Josker was one of three players to play and start every game this season for the Gamecocks as she played outfield and catcher. She recorded career highs when she posted four hits against Southern Illinois and Virgina Tech and she had three RBI against Mercer. She hit her first career home run on March 5 against South Dakota State and the hit at least one more in her next two games.
Josker is the first Gamecock to be named to an all-region team since Danielle Quinones in 2003.
