Browns Summit, N.C. – The South Carolina women’s golf team finished 15th at the Bryan National Collegiate Tournament played at the Champions Course at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, N.C., this weekend with a combined score of 310-321-329=960.

Playing as an individual, freshman Whitney Simons finished 27th with a three-day score of 74-73-83=230. Simons entered the final round sitting in ninth on the individual leader board, but the course’s par-three holes were unfriendly to Simons on Sunday, as the freshman from Aiken suffered through two bogeys and two double-bogeys on the four par-three holes.

Of the players competing in the Carolina lineup, senior Tiffany Catafygiotu and junior Erica Battle were the highest finishers, as the two players finished in a tie for 42nd. Battle carded a three-day score of 76-84-78=238, with Catafygiotu turning in a 75-80-83=238.

Freshman Caroline Rominger finished in a tie for 48th with a score of 80-78-81=239, with teammate Jenna Pearson finishing in a tie for 69th with a 79-81-87=247. Freshman Laura Raffo rounded things out for the Gamecocks by finishing in a tie for 76th with a three-day score of 83-82-87=252.

The Gamecocks are back in action April 15-17 when they compete at the Southeastern Conference Championship in Tunica, Miss.
